Since I'm new to this forum a little introduction is in place.
After doing without a GTI-R for about 7 years I've found one again.
I've been looking in the UK for a big spec one, been in contact with a few guys but somehow I didn't end up with a car.
I almost gave up but then I got a LHD car offered here in The Netherlands.
The price was to good to say no to so I bought it.
It was a red one when I got it, but the paint wasn't to good and a little rust here and there was present.
So there was a good excuse to give it a respray.
The car was fitted with some good specs when I got it.

Wiseco forged pistons
Tomei cams
gas flowed head
shotpeened rods
Greddy rocker stoppers
880cc injectors (bigger ones are ready to go in for remap)
Garrett GT2876R (now changed to GT3071R)
Custom 3 inch stainless exhaust system
Walbro 255 l/h fuel pump
JGY fuel rail
Nismo fuel pressure regulator
Nismo engine mounts
DTA S60 pro management
removed distributor, replaced by coil pack
Greddy type s blow off valve
Koyo Z radiator
Apexi air filter
Nismo radiator cap
Hybrid intercooler kit
JGY 4 puck clutch kit
Fidanza flywheel
AEM AFR kit
HKS turbo timer

B&M short shift kit (already removed)
Hi-Spec 4 piston big brake kit
50mm lowered
16 inch wheels (changed to 17 inch)

Power has been measured at 386bhp.

I'm sure I've forgotten some things, but this is the general idea of the car.

This is what it looked like when I got it.

And then I got started....

Picturse say more then words Cool

Here's about 958 bhp on/under the lift ;-)

The left rear arch was quite rusty, so were the (crap...how do you call the part behind the sideskirts?) Sills?
I cut the rusted parts out and welded a new arch in and fixed the sills left&right.
The front wings also had some rust, so cut that out and welded new pieces in too.

After stripping it down, it went to the paint shop.

A "newish" gearbox

Fitted with the STR brace

At the moment this is how the car looks.
Most of the bodywork has been done, windows have to be put back in and then I can get started under the bonnet.
Will be quite a while before the engine can go back in since I want everything to look as good as new when I open the bonnent, so a lot of cleaning, sanding, painting will be done.

Time to get started under the bonnet.

After a period of a lot of work to just about every car but mine, I had a couple of days to get started on it again.
Put the engine back together, fitted the gearbox and put the lot back in it's place.
This is how the car is at the moment, maybe I'll get around to doing some more in the next few weeks but if the customers keep coming in like they have been the last few months, it could take a while to update this topic.

One of the last things to do included fitting a new front windscreen and getting the rest of the windows tinted.

A set of brake ducts and another propshaft are still needed to finish the job.
