I recently bought a prof sheepdog BOV and I decided to take it part and give it a clean, as suspected it was full of dirty black oily residue.
After cleaning I thought it would be logical to lubricate the piston in it so I had a quick look online and found that you shouldn't use greace or viscous oils and to use a special BOV lubricant from turbosmart which is over £10 for 50ml!
I also read you can use sewing machine oil which is under £5 for 125ml so if it's just as good obviously I will get that.

I'm just wondering what oil others have use to lubricate piston type dump valves?
