Hopefully Leighton can upload my engine bay pics, it's probably not been too touched in 23 years lol, what can be done?
Can I get a updated fuel rail to start with? Also what is this other unit it only has a pipe going into the bottom that's all can it be removed?

You can take the fuel rail off and spray but can be a little labour intensive cleaning it up etc. Probably want to re spray the rocker cover colour coding etc as red is not always that nice looking. Get some alloy cleaner and general de greaser on those areas and see how far you can go

Alloy cleaner can rejuvenate your dizzy, maf & inlet mani. Silicone pipes are cheap on EBay & personalise your rocker cover with powder coating!

Alloy cleaner like what's used on alloy wheels?

Wouldnt take too much some new decent silicone and a bit of glose black spray and she should be looking 100% better.

Carbon canister one pipe from fuel rail return can be looped to the other pipe that vents to chassis, all the other unused vacuum pipes MUST be either used elsewhere or blanked completely or you'll end up with melted Pistons in long run.

Tidy up engine
Paint rocker cover
Remove big bracket by oil water separator
Quality silicone vacuum hoses are not expensive but don't waste money on cheap Chinese ballooning rubbish as it'll give you unstable boost issues
Il be advertising loads of bling bits soon (some not made any more) and these as well as a bit of paint will make a whole world of difference to engine bay (get ajay and Indy to detail your car under the bonnet) they love it and are meticulous with what they do, they would be itching to get their hands on that bay Luke lol

If you want a bling bling rocker cover il paint one for you and same with fuel rail, won't cost a lot and just send me your old bits back so not got to charge you for a rocker cover or rail then Wink and as said keep eyes peeled in parts for sale section as got a lot of stuff coming up for sale soon

Ok brilliant cheers guys lots of food for thought, the rocker cover I got from you Bob I'm going to get carbon fibre dipped but with a blue weav I'l get rid of the canister and brackets, I'l get some silicone hose to replace old hoses and tidy unused hoseing up, then use a little alloy cleaner around the fuel rail to clean it all up, and I'l keep an eye out on the for sale section too :-)

You could put a plug cover on ;-)
And yes I do have one.
All in satin stainless state right now.
I used to knock them out on the OC mirror polished but I'm not sure we're in the mirror polished age anymore,so I left them for future in case anybody wanted one,for painting or something else imaginative

 unpolished.....

Mirror polished....

Ok cool how much for a polished one bud? Are you going to the 25th meet soon?

22 Re: tierd engine bay on 6th June 2015, 6:31 am

houghy_1

I'm hoping to get to the 25th meet but that's if I can get the time to finish building my car up, so unfortunately I can't get one polished for then, realistically it'd be the end of the month.
I sold nearly 40 on the OC years ago, including international.
I only have 5 left and don't have the contacts to make anymore now,so these are what's left from my last batch.

Ok what price are you looking for the non polished then bud? I'm in no urgent rush, if you get the meet sweet and I'l pay you then or if you can't make it I'l pay the delivery

Non polished £20 plus postage, unless I make it to the 25th then I'll just charge delivery money LOL
Sound ok?
