Hey guys,
What's everyone doing with the pcv breather these days?

Keep it
Blank it off
Re-direct to catch can

Any thoughts?
I refitted mine a while back but I used shite silicon hose and now it's all collapsing. So just looking for opinions on whether to bother buying decent hose to keep it or go for another option.

Cheers

I thought it was best to keep it with the metal tube piece near the dizzy as otherwise it can syphon off ive kept it all then to a catch can plumbed back into the oil drain off ...

if you put it to a catch can you'll need to remove the valve from the outer holder or it will be as good as blanked which you really do not want to do
The valve opens under vacuum to allow recirc of gases in cam cover, if vacuum source is removed the valve will remain shut and pressure will build up as only one other breather

Does that still count if your catch can doesnt vent to atmosphere ?

Well if the catch can does not vent to atmosphere it must go back either into the breather system or just have one pipe in and blanks on outlet ports
so if that's the case the same thing applies as your just venting and re circling gases back into the crankcase so in theory you have gained nothing.
They have to be either recirculated back to plenum or induction where they will be ignited & burnt in combustion chamber or needs to vent to atmosphere

Thanks for all the replies chaps.
@Leighton I still have the flame trap restrictor on mine. That runs back to the block and the pipe that originally went to the air intake I have directed to a catch can that's also vented to atmosphere. The pcv valve is the little fella next to the oil filler cap, how do you have that set up?

Not quite right there Leighton as the pipe that's teed off to the induction pipe should be on the one coming from the rocker cover so it pulls the vapours direct from the cover.
The way that is now could cause you issues (especially on boost) as there's a risk of turbo pulling oil from the catch can if level gets a bit high, that will then be drawn back into the ic and to the plenum so you may find it's chucking out blue smoke
