Useful for you sellers and buyers to work out PP fee's cheers

Please can someone double check? I've always done the 4% but seems to be less + 0.20

A lot of people use 4% as a one figure calculation. Paypal charge a fixed 20p per transaction plus the 3.4%, fecking expensive ...

As I don't really receive money via PayPal I never really thought about how expensive it actually is. What a rip

Yeah generally selling on eBay you will look to loose 10% so if you are trying to make a living you can find it hard to get any decent margins, but then again other sites don't offer so many people!

Rule of thumb I've used for years ia people you trust then just gift it friends and family (no fees either way).

Or if you don't know them then pay for goods/services and add the fees (if you are the buyer). Then you are covered if the transaction goes wrong.

on eBay as almost everyone wants paypal you get cut total of 13.5% +20p :-O
shifting money to people you know/trust can be free but not overly useful generally
Don't know why more people don't do bank transfers as they free & instant these days with few taps on keyboard .

I guess it's still a bit taboo for a lot of people to give out their account number.

I do it purely for ease. PayPal app on phone, 30 seconds, get someone paid. And visa virsa.

Ease... or laziness...

Yeah that's a good point, basically pay for convenience.

And if you take payments from abroad you have an extra % on top of the usual charge! I found that out when someone payed me while on holiday the other day.
Ebay and paypal are robbing bastards. But it is easy fast sell on there most of the times.
I always add on the fees when I sell something on ebay. Unless I run an auction...
