Quick question
U guys who've fitted 3071 or any 30 series turbos. Do you have to have a t3 manifold or have any of you used the t2 to t3 adapters. Do those adapters defeat the object of putting on a 3071 when you only have a t2 manifold?

As far as I know there are two versions of Gt3071R one with T3 flange which won't bolt on stock mani and one with T25 flange which does bolt to stock mani you'll need to grind few casting mark off and depending on what actuator you'll get you might to modify bracket for it. I've recently bolted one of those on my mates pulsar. You'll need braided oi and water lines too as stock won't fit and you might need to modify oil drain. While you're at it it's wise to get your exhaust mani ported too.

Thanks pal. Ive got a t2 manifold already. Jap speed one. Do u mean I need to port the manifold itself if it was a stock item.

I've replaced mates manifold... He had Japspeed which has cracked milion times an in the end it flange has warped... So I wouldn't recommend putting one of those on and prolly load of people will tell you the same. Get standard cast one ported granted tubular would be easier to fit but it'll give you no end of trouble.

Ok. Thanks again. Got it now.

The jap speed one I got with the engine i bought. Id heard they were crap. Thats not goin on then. Just still figuring out what set up I'm gonna go with at the mo. And getting my head round it all.

Can u get t3 manifolds for the R or are they mostly custom jobs?

I'd say decent T3 would be either custom/not cheap or something like 6 Boost which is not rly cheap either lol any cheap ebay will give you loads of trouble bud.

You could get a t3 flange and have it tig welded onto the stock mani .... just throwing that out there Wink

Could you externally wastegate a stock turbo by welding the flap shut. Wat are the advantages of external wastegate apart from the awesome noise?

I believe you'd get less boost creep and less boost spikes (generally better boost control as it flows better) if you're after noise well I've got internally wastegated gt28 and I've got screamer pipe on it too Razz

I like the look of that. I will call them tommorow but I would think it top mounts from the look of it. Good price aswell. And T3. And it will be mega strong. Top find that ricks. Thanks

Dobby had one of those cast top mounts on his car with a gt3076r think it got to maybe 450bhp and topped out but thats quite a healthy figure really!
