Does anyone know where a family of 5 can stay that's close to Hyde park on the 30th June for the weekend.

We are going to see greenday perform on the Saturday but want to make a weekend of it and go into London sight seeing...

We have looked on line but because we don't know London at all, we aren't sure where is close to Hyde park...

An apartment would be better than a hotel because we need so many beds...

I hate london ..... much cheaper to stay on the outskirts swanley .... dartford ... depends really if your gig runs late into the night as you wont want to be trekking across london to find digs ....

We have found a place 1.4 miles from hyde park.

We plan on going to the tower of London. Impirial war museum. Buckingham palace. The usual tourist places really.
We haven't planned the days yet tho.

We know it's going to be expensive but it will be a good weekend away Smile

Haha I was dragged into it mate.
The ex was taking my eldest. But the younger boys were moaning to go too. So under pressure I said okay..
I have never been to a gig in my life and im not a huge fan of greenday.
If I get bored I'm sure my youngest will be happy to leave and go back to the digs for food and a movie lol

Thanks mate.

We have found somewhere and booked it. Just over £300 for 2 nights Smile
Hotels were coming in at £600+

We plan on doing the boat trips. Hopefully see some mud larkers lol
Just found a pass for £80 each that gives us access to most attractions and we also get to travel on all buses and tubes too Smile

not too bad considering London and it being in summer. shame I don't still do dishwashers probably could have got you in Buckingham palace. look up walkie talkie building, you can go up there for free but just have to pre book and take I.D. think they only book at like a week at a time so you'll have to keep checking for the dates you're going. book it quite late in the evening as it starts getting dark. some great views. you're only allowed about an hour up there although think we were up there a bit longer.

I work in London, so can offer some guidance here. If you can get a hotel for about 150 per night then that's pretty good to be honest. Even a cheap room at a standard hotel will cost you a few hundred quid a night and that would just be for two people. (Travelodge is always good for a deal... been many times where I've missed the last train home!)
Don't worry about the distance from Hyde Park, as someone said earlier, even if you stayed miles away, you can jump on the public transport and be anywhere within 20 mins

Sounds like a good time mate. That R of yours is going to be mint when you're done, good opportunity to work on it away from that torrential downpour you get over there Laughing

Howd the astra go? drove it like you stole it? Laughing

Really pleased your new venture is all going well Stu Cool
Hard work and perseverance more often than not will pay dividends in the longrun, too many people give in at the first obstacle.

I was at Wembley just over a week ago watching a one off event by ELO, was jam packed there around 100,000 in total.
I drove there in the Gtr but getting back was a right fooker, its everone for themselves in London, hesitate and your car gets hit Laughing
Bet Greenday were good though.
