Right guys
Decided after thinking long and hard about it over past few days, with added pressure from the other half as well What a Face
Putting rolling road up for sale really is the right thing to do.
In truth it breaks my heart as many know the amount of work, hellish long hours etc ive put in over the last 3 years to establish the tuning side of the business as well as all the other things we do. The business has just grown at an alarming rate and takes virtually all my time to run it and the bigger it gets the more time it takes so I need to break that cycle now

We have work coming in all the time from tuning and tuning related issues on all ranges of vehicles. Engine builds, bodywork, spraying as well as general type servicing, car sales & fabrication (in our other unit), Also still have the parts side of things which has been a constant throughout the years........... but I simply can not run this all by myself any more and can not keep up with the workload as there is much more going on other than ''just Pulsars'' as you can imagine lol.

So in light of that and my current health issues im going to take a step back and concentrate more on just the parts and engine builds again as opposed to trying to do everything.
Plus I own at last count 36 cars Shocked
So will be concentrating my efforts on getting all of those built back up and restored rather than constant streams of work which put added pressures on me.

So if anyone knows of someone after a Awd Dyno please can they contact me for further details
It Wont be sold for at least a month as weve currently got 12 cars booked in awaiting maoping and at last count about the same number awaiting power runs and minor set ups and im not even back at work yet lol.
Soon as the backlog is cleared its then going to be available

Will still be around to offer help and advice as always but going to be selfish and concentrate on the finer things in life for a change as learnt that theres more to life than just work, work, work

That's about it folks Very Happy

Its good to hear that you are concentrating on your health Bob.
Sorry to see you are having to make tough calls tho mate.
But its for the greater good and having you about is better than not!
Will be good to see you well again and taking it easy.
Getting those 36 cars built back up will be enough of a job lol
Good luck with the sale and with the rest of your decisions.

Can't fault your decision bob .
Health and family come first .

Don't suppose you want to hold off  selling the dyno till you've done mine as mine will be the most powerful pulsar you've ever seen with an expected bhp of over 500000000000bhp

Yes have considered that Leighton but I know me and over a period of time il be sucked right back into it again and will be back in the same boat doing silly hours and stressed to the hilt with workload again.
I aint getting any younger and I really do not need the added pressure what with everything else I have to do..........so baring in mind what ive just said its far easier just to sell up, no stress that way which then leaves me more time for doing the things I should have been doing years ago and stuff that I now enjoy like trackdays and all the other events that I can never seem to get to

TOMMY......yes that's right 36 cars, shit now ive got to make an assesment affraid

UK Sunny Gtir x 1
Pulsar Gtir's x 9
Pulsar gtir rolling shells x 4
Nissan Rasheens x 3
R32 Skylines x 2
Renault Clios x 2
Honda Civic type R ep3 X 1
Honda Prelude 2.0-b20 x 1
Nissan 300zxtt x 2
Nissan GTR35 X 1
kia Sedona v6td x 1
Nissan ZX Coupe 2.0 x 1
Nissan 100nx x 1
TVR Cerbera 4.2ajp x 1
Toyota Rav 4 2.0td x 1
Ford Capri 2.0s x 1
Dodge 6.5ton luton horsebox x 1
Suzuki gsxr 750 x 1

Think that's it so actually 34 vehicles at present Laughing
That alone is enough to keep me going for next few years without buying anything and theres 2 more Pulsars being delivered to us on Friday..........think that makes me more of a hoarder than Johnny lol

Ive always fancied a ZX coupe as my next project (2nd to a sunny gti). Saw one at the recent Japfest and it was the coolest car around.
Have you thought about simply selling these off as they are? Question

Always think of number one mr bob. It sounds like a good call to me. Wouldnt renting the dyno out to tuners be a option... glad your on the mend tho as otherwise we would all be knackered for parts ;-)

Ah! I almost forgot also have a Sunny Gti in very nice condition lol

Trouble is Neil that when I bought all these over the years......I did with a view to restoring them all to there former glory then flog them as that's when they are suddenly worth a lot of money. There are some I would consider selling as up and running projects but others are worth a lot of money if fully restored and we have everything  in house to do the work and get them back to their former glory so its a hard call really.

Heres a vpic of the ZX I bought
supposedly quite rare is the manual version which I have , wheels are gross though that makes 37 In total

Growth in business is usually a good thing , but it alters how things are organised , and needs more than one person to run . Dyno tuning is pretty integral to performance cars .
Times are hard , and getting harder , the economy is stalling and very very uncertain .
You could merge with another tuner / car specialist , thus off loading many things to be managed to someone else .
You could take on more staff or help , and off load areas of the business to be managed by someone else , maybe tie up with some of the universities who offer motorsport degrees - they would always be looking for placements for students to get experience , perhaps set up a race team ( they could get either funding or sponsorship deals . ) now you could focus on the areas you want to , race days or prep , or restoration etc , the bits you enjoy - and delegate all the other areas .
Getting youngsters involved is usually a good thing , normally very keen and full of energy - and much like a war , we always kill the young ones first , it allows us to get old gracefully - lol

I think he has looked at that route and good staff are hard to find. Either not enough knowledge or soon as they get some think there worth a fortune or most become lazy and only want to do the good parts of the job. Still be linked to the buisiness one way or another and the company name is at risk and like bob says if it's there or near he will end up wanting a part of it. ( shame but true )

Wish the sunny gti was not worth as much as miss my one with a R engine in the thing was immense

Good luck what ever route you take mate

All I can say is that you work to live, not live to work. NO job on the planet is worth putting your health and happiness at risk for. Just please, PLEASE keep selling parts and doing engine builds!

What Johnny said. It's pretty impossible to find experienced mechanic who actually know what he's doing. My place had tech with around 20 years of experience who would leave wishbone bolts loose or even missing! So you'll get more staff who you have to constantly monitor + answer phones price the parts etc.... Don't even get me started on young ones... I'm working here (UK) in trade for last 12 years. In those 12 years I've only known 1 apprentice ho actually finished his level 2! They're bunch of useless bored kids who think that mechanics are easy and can't replace front pads after 1 year of working in garage....

We are dying breed!!!

Thanks for all the well wishes guys and encouragement but made up my mind with this now and not going to change my mind.
Did a couple hours back at work today and have to say ive atill got a long way to go as use of my right hand and arm iis still very limited and cant walk or stand up for long either.
Tried driving a car out of the workshop and no feeling in my right foot at all No
So come to conclusion that everywhere I go I will have to drive like.............
'If in doubt flat out' Laughing

One things for sure though......2-3hrs was too much, am absolutwly knackered now so a long long way to go and just hope that in time the use of my arm and leg come back.

Don't rush it Bob, it will only get you upset and you'll loose progress. From what you have said above, this was not just a warning, but full-on. Time is your best friend, along with all the lads and lasses in your life. As you said, 2-3 hours was too much. So do half that and build up too longer times. You have a bonus on your side, you have tenacity, therefore you will succeed. Keep at it fella, a long road but you know the direction. Good health to you.
