Luckily it didn't spin a shell and I'd caught it in time, the crank was inspected and polished

What do they think caused it ?
All I will say is use the right people for the job as was proven with the box Neil built. Bad mapping can destroy bottom end

What Happened is this, the car has all ways used oil since the day I bought it, any way, in a 70 mile journey it used practically all its oil. Stripped the engine and one of the head bolt washers was snapped in half not applying enough pressure in that area perhaps, and also one of the rings looked slightly burnt, seems to have been by passing oil into the cylinder. Happened on the way back from the ring. So literally did hundreds and hundreds of miles then all of a sudden this, so highly unlikely to be mapping (thrashed the crap out of it in Germany on the track)
And yes Johny, lesson learnt, I've know this guy a while and he's pretty well known, I trust him completely.

^ nothing major then Shocked least caught in time .
probably about time you had engine out again as probably forgot how open the bonnet and missing the wrench time with the R .
Hope this doesn't mean you'll be driving a bloody honda again lol .
