For a while now I've been thinking that my R isn't as quick as it should be. Its got a chipped ECU (meant to run 1.2 bar boost), 3" straight through turbo back exhaust, adjustable FPR, hard wired fuel pump, and boost controlled via a Dawes device.
I was going to double check the timing again this weekend to make sure nothing had changed for whatever reason...that is until I had a revelation this morning.
When I initially set up the Dawes device last year, I was going off the reading on the aftermarket boost gauge on the dash, which I assumed read in decimal bar...and here's where the faux pas enters...it actually reads in PSI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So instead of setting the Dawes device to 1.2 bar (17.4 PSI) I had actually set it to 12 PSI (0.8 bar).
No fucking wonder it didn't feel quick, lol! I need to get fuel at lunchtime so I'll turn it up and see what happens. Its bound to be a lot more interesting than what it is at the moment anyway; twat!
