I couldn't work out where it was coming from as it was only a very light squeeling.
You could hardly hear it.
Lifted the bonnet and revved the engine and you could faintly hear it but I couldn't trace it down.
Turned the engine off, my turbo keeps spinning for a while after with the roller bearings.
They were very loud
Like a grinding noise.
I havent driven the car since
Spoke to someone about a rebuild.
But because I need the cast water jacket replacing aswel it could be upto £400+vat for a rebuild
So I have sourced a Chinese 2871 instead.
I have heard a few people are using them with great results.
I started thinking (it's dangerous I know)
The Chinese 2871 is internal wastegate and a .64 housing.
Mine is external and .89 housing.
Can you see where my thinking is going?
Yup I'm going to use the core from the Chinese turbo to rebuild my turbo :crazy:
The new turbo should be here by the weekend so hopefully have it all done this weekend
