newbie pulsar owner from scotland in need of help

Only had my pulsar a few months and was loving it until about 3 weeks ago when it decided to spit a camshaft rocker off  and break the rocker pivot    I am now having problem sourcing the pivot. Nissan says it is only 4 quid for the part   but they are on back order for 3 weeks   3 weeks have now past and still no rocker pivot   and now they are not sure they can supply the part    Night mare situation and can't get the bit I need anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to forum mate, sorry to hear about your troubles with the R but that's just the joy of owning these cars  
It's a love hate relationship as I found when I cracked a piston ring land right after buying my pulsar  

You can't go far wrong on this forum matey everybody is friendly and always willing to help out fellow R owners. I would of been lost without this forum, the help and advice I have recived from everyone on here has realy come in handy

Welcome mate I'm in Scotland to and had the same problem as hardy172cup mines should be back on the road soon just tryin to did time round work etc it's nearly all built back up tho :£

Scottyboy I just bought another engine because I'm useless with mechanics and didn't want to pay for somebody to rebuild the engine for me.
I'm yet to strip my old engine and see what the damage is.
Now I have another I do feel a bit more confident to rebuild my old engine because it's not the end of the world of I can't do it lol

I was abit worred on stripping mines mate rang one change didn't worry me either but the rebuild did but after doing it I didn't find it that had to do makes me a bit more confident on working on it now

How did it throw a rocker? It usually only happens when it's revved to high. Usually when the rev limiter has been raised like on the mines ecu...
Did you miss a gear or did you go over 7.5k revs?

Cheers boycie but I don't think I'll make it in time with it running on 3 cylinders at the moment. Not to bad on fuel if it's not thrashed. I managed to get 270 miles to a full tank of super which was about 70 quid. Although generally I get about 25 miles for 10 quid which isn't to bad compared to what I got in my corrado vr6.

Up and running again this afternoon thanks to bob for sending me another pivot. Absolute gem of a bloke. Can't thank him enough. I'll try and get some pics posted up once I wash it as it's been a bit neglected since it broke down. And just realised the tax was up at the end of August. Didn't realise it had been of the road so long. Cheers bob.
