When i first start the car it just wants to stall all the time.
As soon as it gets warm it idles at 1000rpm but then fluctuates between 1000rpm and 800rpm and every so often drops to 600rpm
Idle control valve maybe?
I havent done the fault code as yet. Been busy all day.
Will pop out and do it in a minute.

Does air flow meter not sometimes cause similar issues?

Would it not throw a code up tho if it was afm?
Or is the re earthing the afm what stops it?

I honestly don't know the answer but had a similar issue with mine and sprayed some cleaner through it and seemed to do the trick! Does the element not get crap on it over time and then give the Ecu a false signal, then it just messes it up! Worth a try? I'll have a look in my shed now if you want and throw a picture up of what it was I used to clean it with if you want??

idle valve, auxiliary air valve is common one & normally removal & cleaning can work wonders. Lots of other things on the R though that cause minor idle speed fluctuation.
Is a good thread on it somewhere.

Yes please.
just had a thought. Mine has a relocation pipe and was causing turbulence? ?? So i had to put a piece of tight over the pipe and then the afm over that.
It stopped the turbulence. Ive noticed the lad i sold it to has changed the material for something more thicker.
That might just be it.
Thanks for mentioning the afm. Made me think clearer Smile

Best to unscrew the AFM from the body. Who phillips screws on the top and just take the black plastic assembly out. Just spray it on the AFM and thats it. Have a look inside the ally AFM casing for any oxidation or crap like that. I remember mine had alot of this white oxidation so might be worth cleaning that while youre at it Smile
