I have yellow stuff on the front but they don't brake very well. People have said mintex M1144 are better but then some say ds2500 are and there about the same price at 100 or just over. This is my every day car but will be going nurburg in may

I can only comment on ds2500's. Awesome pad. Thumbs up from me. You might save a couple quid by buying mintex I think but I know a low of people who run ds2500's in lots of different cars and they are all happy.

£5 is the only difference really and i will need to get rears aswell and some new discs. Are the ds2500 very dusty like the yellows as they kick up a right dust cloud

Ive currently got the ds,s but find them very unresponsive when cold and driving around town. On track cant fault them. Going 1144 next

1144 are fantastic pads .. Got them on my R with willwood 310 mm discs .

I had them in my sunny gti and did 4 laps of the nurburgring with no brake fade..

Good on first press on cold brakes .
Superb once warmed up

I quite like mintex 1144 too,
@Stu Quite a few cars have those akebono calipers & 130mm bolt spaced carriers such as fto-gpx, galant vr4, shogun sport & others that use 276mm or even 294mm discs (outlander, legnum, airtrek) with akebono caliper & bracket that 130mm bolt spaced .
for uk market I expect fto & galant most likely donors .

evo 4 has 160mm hub bolt spacing not 130mm. the 4 was pre designed to be bolt on for the brembos.

I've just been looking at the mintex website to match up evo and fto front pad part numbers which match up but problem comes when i looked for gtir specific rear pads. They only list standard pads MDB1707 so they don't do M1144 which is annoying because i wanted a full set. I need to get something that works from cold and doesn't fade when hot

found black diamond rears 38quid PP384

Bought m1144's for the front and black diamond rear pads and some grooved rear discs off ebay. Hopefully these will be alot better
