Hi, my names Dave and I'm a happy new owner of a bright yellow GTiR. My standard practice when I get a new car is to join every owners forum I can find so here I am.
The car is a 1992 umbrella model (umbrella present!) with Nismo light pod and ali sump guard. Originally it was red but someone decided to have a laugh and paint it yellow. It is absolutely totally completely standard, still has its flare.
Brief history for context: I have a Nissan Stagea (comedy Skyline estate) which I have done a couple of track days in at Blyton and at Spa Franchochamps. I wanted something else that would be a bit better if we continued to do the odd track day. I'm not talking about every weekend, just once or twice a year. My wife joined me on my last track day and she really enjoyed it (and was pretty handy at it too!) so we agreed to get something that is a bit less like piloting a shipping container.
To begin with we looked at Corolla AE86's (Initial D replicas) but they are mental prices. I also looked at 200sx but my wife doesn't really like them. My dream is an R32 or R34 Skyline GTR to match the Stagea but that's beyond my budget. Evenutally we agreed on a Pulsar. The bright yellow one stood out and shouted BUY ME so we did.
I've put slotted discs on (still on standard 14" wheels though) and better brake pads, and a fujitsubo turbo back exhaust but left everything else standard. Part of the reasoning for keeping it sensible is that I also have a Dax Cobra kit car with a 6.3 stroker SBC making 430hp which satisfies all of my mental barely-driveable-on-the-roads needs so I wasn't looking for something too mad.
I'll admit I wasn't entirely convinced by the Pulsar to begin with but I've done a track day at Snetterton and an Autosolo event and it is growing on me
It will live in my nice heated and dehumidified garage next to the Cobra.
I've already introduced myself to Bob at GTI-R-US
